(OMA) What are the ethical considerations of current methods of disposing of “soft plastics” and what are possible solutions to the problem?
College of Engineering students are invited to register for the upcoming discussion – “Envionmental Ethics on Trial: The Good, ‘The Bag,’ and The Ugly,” a review of a pilot study related to the disposal and recycling of those “soft plastics.”
The program is Thursday, April 19 at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 202 S. 20th St. from 5-8 p.m. The registration fee is $10.
Attendees are invited to come from 5-6 p.m. for appetizers and networking and stay for the program and discussion from 6-8 p.m. This is an opportunity for students to meet with Omaha-area community, industry and business leaders and discuss a topic of local significance. Among the local leaders expected to present are Hal Daub, former Omaha mayor and current University of Nebraska Regent, and Rick Yoder, chief sustainability officer at the UNO College of Business Administration.
