The three finalists in the search for the next permanent dean of the College of Engineering will make their campus visits over the next 12 days, with the first visit set to begin Wednesday.
Each candidate will spend time with university administrators and in the college interacting with the leadership team, faculty, staff and students. Candidates will tour Nebraska Engineering facilities in Lincoln and at the Peter Kiewit Institute on the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Scott Campus. Alumni, college partners and the university community are invited to attend public presentations by and receptions for each candidate. Individuals attending the public presentations are encouraged to provide feedback on each candidate.
The schedule for the finalists’ campus visits is as follows:
* Mei Wei, associate dean for research and graduate education and professor of materials science and engineering at the University of Connecticut – Wednesday-Friday, April 18-20, with a public presentation and reception at 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday (April 19) in the Kauffman Academic Residential Center's Great Hall.
* David Ashley, professor of engineering practice at the University of Southern California – Monday-Tuesday, April 23-24, with a public presentation and reception at 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 in the Willa Cather Dining Complex's Red Cloud Room.
* Lance C. Pérez, interim dean of engineering and professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln – Wednesday-Friday, April 25-27, with a public presentation and reception at 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 26 in the Willa Cather Dining Complex's Red Cloud Room.
