The Office of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce recipients of this year’s Folsom and Graduate Recognition awards. These awards are made possible through a generous gift from the family of Lowe R. & Mavis M. Folsom and the University Foundation.

Lowe R. & Mavis M. Folsom Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award

Kofi Britwum completed his doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics. Mr. Britwum completed his dissertation, “Consumer Perceptions of Food Safety and Preferences for Food Safety Interventions” under the supervision of Professor Amaila Yiannaka.

Lowe R. & Mavis M. Folsom Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award

Kate Sirota completed her master’s degree in Educational Psychology. Ms. Sirota completed her thesis, “Correlates of Student Motivation and Engagement in Ninth Grade: Revisiting
the Social-Cognitive Model” under the supervision of Professor Kathleen Rudasill.

Dean’s Award for Excellence in Graduate Education

David DiLillo joined the UNL faculty in 2000, he currently serves as a Willa Cather Professor in Psychology.

Rebecca Lai joined the UNL faculty in 2007, she currently serves as Susan J. Rosowski Associate Professor in Chemistry.

Outstanding Graduate Research & Creative Activities Award

Anna Jaffe is working towards her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.

Meetpal Kukal is working towards his doctoral degree in Biological Engineering.

John Kiat completed his doctoral degree in Psychology this May.

Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award

Katie McWain completed her doctoral degree in English this May.

Delaram Rahimi is working towards his doctoral degree in Modern Languages, specializing in Spanish.
