In an effort to better serve new and current graduate students, the Office of Graduate Studies will host two events in August. Please mark your calendars for the following events:
Graduate Student Orientation
Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Nebraska Union (city campus)
Graduate Community Fair
Friday, August 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Seaton Hall Quad
Previously, the Office of Graduate Studies held the campus-wide Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) Workshop and the New Graduate Student Welcome. Graduate Student Orientation and Graduate Community Fair will replace and incorporate resources from these former events.
Graduate Student Orientation will present information on useful teaching and campus resources for graduate students. Additional professional development activities focused on teaching and research will be held weekly throughout the semester. A finalized activity schedule for the upcoming Fall 2018 events will be sent in the next few weeks.
We urge you to encourage your students to attend both events as well as the weekly activities for continuous improvement and current professional development topics. Students will be able to access the latter via Zoom, a campus-provided remote conference service on the Office of Graduate Studies website.
Registration for the events will be available soon. Please advise students in your department to register for both events.
If you have questions about the events or weekly activities, please contact:
