Tour the Iris Garden

The UNL Botanical Garden and Arboretum will give a walking tour of the iris collection on East Campus from 12:15 to 12:45pm, Wednesday, May 28. The tour will be conducted at the Magdalene Pfister Appreciation Iris Garden in the northeast corner of the Nebraska Center for Continuing Education parking lot near 33rd and Potter streets. The garden was started as a result of memorial gifts to UNL in the 1980s for the purpose of establishing an iris collection. It now includes more than 150 varieties of award-winning and named iris varieties. The garden is maintained through a cooperative agreement between the Lincoln Iris Society and UNL Landscape Services.Bob Smith and Eugene Kalkwarf of the Lincoln Iris Society will lead the tour.
