Yetto, a native of Stillwater, N.Y., paints from life and works in a range of scales. "The idea of juxtaposing different scales can determine the size of the work," he said. "If I am observing something of small scale, I generally prefer to greatly increase its scale in my work. There is the feeling of experiencing new worlds and yet they are of our own world. The small-scale works tend to be interior spaces, still life, portraits or landscapes."

Yetto's process also changes when working in miniature scale. "I prefer to work with brushes, pigments, and razor blades for small-scale works," he said. "It is hard to find a way to be physical with a small work and still maintain the perceptible information. It requires a certain precision and awareness of details. My goal in these works is to find the balance between precision and surface quality." more...

Straight from the front lines in Iraq, The War Tapes is the first war movie filmed by soldiers themselves. Funnier, spicier, and more gut wrenching than news reports, this is Operation Iraqi Freedom as filmed by Sergeant Steve Pink, Sergeant Zack Bazzi and Specialist Mike Moriarty. Steve is a wisecracking carpenter who aspires to be a writer. Zack is a Lebanese-American university student who loves to travel and is fluent in Arabic. Mike is a father who seeks honor and redemption. Each leaves a woman behind - a girlfriend, a mother and a wife. Through their candid footage, these men open their hearts and take us on an unforgettable journey, capturing camaraderie and humor along with the brutal and terrifying experiences they face. These soldiers got the story that 2,700 embedded reporters never could.

In Mouth To Mouth, Sherry, a young runaway meets the radical street collective SPARK - Street People Armed with Radical Knowledge - while she is living on the streets of Europe. She travels through the continent in the SPARK van, recruiting members from street gangs and disenfranchised youth at raves and town squares and experiencing the group's giddy thrills as well as its punishing manipulations. Searching for a place to belong where she can still be herself, Sherry thinks she has found this in SPARK, but when her mother comes to find her, Sherry discovers that she must pay a heavy personal price for rebellion. Alison Murray combines drama, suspense and choreographed movement in an intense, stylish and provocative look at youth culture, the struggles of parenthood, and the dark side of nonconformity.
