International Affairs Hosts Fall Study Abroad Fair
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's fall Study Abroad Fair will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the Nebraska Union.
Presented by the UNL Office of International Affairs, the fair will feature study abroad returnees, advisers, providers and UNL faculty who can offer students a chance to learn about study abroad programs that fit their academic needs and personal interests. more...

Full Slate of Homecoming Activities Set For Week
Homecoming activities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are Sept. 28-Oct. 4. This year's theme is "Journey through the decades," with a focus on the 1950s to 1990s. A number of events are free and open to the public.

UNL earns $8.1 Million NSF Grant for Nanotechnology Research Center
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has received an $8.1 million grant from the National Science Foundation to support the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center and its nanotechnology research through 2014.
UNL's center focuses on quantum and spin phenomena in nanomagnetic structures and is one of 26 such elite Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers in the nation. This grant continues support for the interdisciplinary research by UNL scientists and engineers associated with the center, which was established in 2002 with a $5.4 million NSF grant. more...

Tell No One and Man On Wire Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Tell No One and Man On Wire. Tell No One will show through October 9, while and Man On Wire will play for one week only, through October 2.
In the shortcut language of a movie pitch, Guillaume Canet's delicious contemporary thriller Tell No One is Vertigo meets The Fugitive by way of The Big Sleep. That is meant as high praise. This French adaptation of Harlan Coben's 2001 best seller is the kind of conspiracy-minded mystery almost no one seems capable of creating anymore, except David Lynch in his surreal way. Watching it is like gorging on a hot fudge sundae in the good old days when few worried about sugar and fat. There are no bogus geopolitics weighing it down with a spurious relevance. James Marsh's dazzling, invigorating documentary Man On Wire tells the story of a truly inspiring figure.
