Flu Shots
UNIVERSITY HEALTH CENTER, NOON-2PM
University Health Center Holds Flu Shot Clinic

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln University Health Center will be holding a series of flu shot clinics this year for UNL students, faculty and staff. A clinic is scheduled from noon - 2 p.m. today at the University Health Center.

Flu vaccinations cost $20 and payment by cash, check or NCard is required at the time of the vaccination. For those with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, a claim will be filed for them by UHC staff for possible reimbursement (please bring your insurance information with you to the clinic), however you will still need to pay at time of shot. Flu vaccinations are also available by appointment at UHC for those unable to attend a clinic.

Bird Brains are Al Kamil's Topic in Nebraska Lecture

When someone uses the idiom "bird brain," what comes to mind might not reflect the phrase's true meaning. In the fall Nebraska Lecture today, UNL behavioral ecologist Alan C. Kamil will discuss how birds use their cognitive abilities to survive.

The free public lecture, "Bird Brain! Compliment or Insult?" will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Auditorium, 1400 R St., with a reception following. The presentation is part of The Nebraska Lectures: Chancellor's Distinguished Lecture Series. more...

Theatrix Kicks Off Season with No. 11 (Blue and White)

Theatrix, the student producing theatre organization under the auspices of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film (JCSTF), opens its 2008-2009 season with Alexandra Cunningham's bitterly funny drama, No. 11 (Blue And White), based on real events in her own high school years.

No. 11 (Blue And White) will open tonight at the Lab Theatre, 3rd floor of the Temple Building, 12th and R Street in Lincoln, Nebraska. Show times are Thursday, October 30th at 7:30 p.m., Friday October 31st at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., Saturday, November 1st at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Individual show tickets are $6 via credit card (some user fees may be applied) at www.unltheatretickets.com or at the theatre the evening of the performance (subject to availability).
