University Health Center Holds Flu Shot Clinic
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln University Health Center will be holding a series of flu shot clinics this year for UNL students, faculty and staff. A clinic is scheduled from noon - 2 p.m. today at the University Health Center.
Flu vaccinations cost $20 and payment by cash, check or NCard is required at the time of the vaccination. For those with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, a claim will be filed for them by UHC staff for possible reimbursement (please bring your insurance information with you to the clinic), however you will still need to pay at time of shot. Flu vaccinations are also available by appointment at UHC for those unable to attend a clinic.

Sigma Xi Lecturer to Discuss Ethanol Production Impacts
Health and environmental risks linked to ethanol production will be the focus of the Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecture at UNL's Nebraska Union today. This year's distinguished lecturer will be Felicia Wu, assistant professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of Pittsburgh. She will present "Environmental and Health Risks Associated with Corn-based Ethanol Production: Possible Solutions" at 3:30 p.m. in the Nebraska Union auditorium.
The lecture and a 3 p.m. reception in the union's Heritage Room are free and open to the public. The lecture is sponsored by the UNL chapter of Sigma Xi, the scientific research society, and by the departments of agronomy and horticulture, and food science and technology.

Hollywood Chinese and film retrospective play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Hollywood Chinese and a film retrospective of filmmaker Arthur Dong. All films will show one week only through October 30.
Arthur Dong's Hollywood Chinese, opening at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 24, with filmmaker Arthur Dong in person, explores Chinese representation in Hollywood, weaving together personal stories from key players throughout the years, featuring Ang Lee, Nancy Kwan, Joan Chen, B.D. Wong and many more.
In addition to the screenings of Hollywood Chinese, the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center will be presenting a selection of Dong’s earlier work and a retrospective, titled the "Hollywood Chinese Film Retrospective," including several of the films discussed in his documentary.
