Japan Festival
Arts Presentations, Film Highlight Japan Festival at UNL

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host a Japan Festival from 3-9 p.m. today in the Nebraska Union, 1400 R St., and the Ross Media Arts Center, 313 N. 13th St. All events are free and open to the public. The festival is sponsored by UNL's Japanese program and the Consulate General of Japan-Chicago. Events for the festival include:

  • Calligraphy workshop by Mutsumi Matsubara from 3-4 p.m. in the Nebraska Union Heritage Room
  • Karate martial arts demonstration by Shotokan Karate of America from 4:30-6 p.m. in the University of Nebraska Dojo, Nebraska Union, Heritage Room
  • Screening of the Japanese film, Love and Honor at 7 p.m. in the Ross Media Arts Center.

Visiting Artist Stahlecker Delivers Lecture

Highly accomplished and internationally recognized book artist Bonnie Stahlecker, will kick-off a three-day bookmaking workshop with a lecture on her work from the past several years. Her talk will take place at 5:15 p.m. in Room 14 of Richards Hall.

With a strong background in typography, letterpress and bookbinding, Stahlecker creates handmade artist books that fold, hide, reveal and surprise.

 

The Good Doctor
University Theatre Presents The Good Doctor

University Theatre continues its 2008-2009 season at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with Neil Simon's comedy The Good Doctor. The production, directed by Carson School Assistant Professor of Practice Ian Borden, will have performances March 5, 6, 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre, first floor of the Temple Building at 12th and R Streets.

Tickets are $16, $14 faculty/staff and senior citizens, and $10 students with ID. Tickets are available from the Lied Center Ticket Office, 301 N. 12 Monday through Friday 11 AM to 5:30 PM and one hour prior to the performance in the Temple Theatres Lobby, or by telephone at 472-4747 or 800-432-3231.
