New Unl.edu Launches Monday

The transition to a refreshed and improved UNL.edu will begin on Monday, August 17 at 10 a.m., one week prior to the beginning of fall semester. A working version of this new template is currently live on the Web Developers Network website, and more can be read about the process of its development in an IIM blog post.

 

Galapagos, Exploring Darwins Tapestry
Presentation, Book Signing by 'Galapagos' Author is Aug. 14

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will host a free public presentation and book signing at 2 p.m. Aug. 14 in the Arbor Room of the Nebraska East Union.

The presentation by John Hess, emeritus professor of biology at the University of Central Missouri and author of "Galapagos: Exploring Darwin's Tapestry." Hess' book was released in May. Discounted copies will be available at the Nebraska Bookstore and at the book signing.

780 to Receive Degrees at UNL Commencement Exercises Aug. 14-15

Approximately 780 students will receive degrees at University of Nebraska-Lincoln commencement exercises Aug. 14 and 15.

Barbara Couture, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs, will preside at the ceremonies for recipients of master's and doctoral degrees at the Bob Devaney Sports Center at 3 p.m. Aug. 14 and at the ceremonies for recipients of baccalaureate degrees at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 15. Mehrdad Negahban, associate professor of engineering mechanics at UNL, will address the Aug. 14 postgraduate ceremony. Helen Moore, Aaron Douglas professor and professor of sociology and women's studies, will address the Aug. 15 baccalaureate ceremony. more...
