New Unl.edu Launches Today

The transition to a refreshed and improved UNL.edu will begin today at 10 a.m., one week prior to the beginning of fall semester. A working version of this new template is currently live on the Web Developer Network website, and more can be read about the process of its development in an IIM blog post.

90.3 KRNU to Make Format Adjustments, Create 2nd Web Channel

KRNU, the campus radio station for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is reformatting programming to further strengthen its position as Lincoln's only authentic source for independent music. The new format will begin airing in time for the return of students for the fall semester, which starts Aug. 24.

In addition, the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, which houses and oversees the station, is adding a second Web channel for additional student-produced programming. more...

Single Tickets for Lied Center's 20th season on Sale

Individual tickets to all events in the Lied Center for Performing Arts 20th anniversary season will be available beginning at 11 a.m. today.

Orders can be placed at the Lied Center box office window, online at the Lied Center website, over the phone at (402) 472-4747 or toll free at (800) 432-3231, or by fax. Tickets sales are up 10 percent from last year because of early support and community interest in several shows, such as legendary jazz and classical trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, who will kick off the Lied's season Oct. 7. more...

Mueller Planetarium sets fall fulldome schedule

Beginning this week, Mueller Planetarium at the University of Nebraska State Museum will go to its fall schedule, presenting astronomy shows only on Thursday nights and Saturday and Sunday afternoons in Nebraska's first fulldome digital projection theater.

Programming begins Aug. 20 featuring a show about the history of the telescope, another chronicling feats in space exploration and a third about the mysterious phenomena of black holes. more...
