'Dan Christensen: 40 Years of Painting' Continues at Sheldon
"Dan Christensen: Forty Years of Painting," a survey of paintings by the Nebraska native post-painterly abstract artist, continues at the Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
A collaboration with the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, the exhibition documents Christensen's quest to understand the possibilities of color, paint and pictorial space. Though long associated with the Color Field movement, Christensen's relentless experimentation with tools and techniques, while making him resistant to any one label or category, places him among this country's most ambitious abstract and gestural painters. more...

Incredible, Edible Car Competition Part of E-Day Events
See student teams build, race, then devour their creations at E-Day 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Nebraska East Union. This free event is an opportunity to learn more about UNL's Biological Systems Engineering program -- where success depends on teamwork, preparation and a strong desire to "play with your food."
E-Day brings together engineering faculty and students at East Campus to participate in hands-on activities and view innovative senior design projects in Biological Systems Engineering and Agricultural Engineering.

Bright Star, World's Greatest Dad Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Bright Star and World's Greatest Dad. World's Greatest Dad will screen through December 10, while Bright Star will show through December 20.
