College of Law Holds Public Forum
Douglas Ray

The search committee for the position of Dean of the College of Law has selected candidates for on-campus interviews and planned the series of presentations at which the university community and the public are welcome. Today, an open forum will be held with Douglas Ray from 3 - 4:30 p.m. in Room 111 at the College of Law.

Ray is dean and professor of law at the University of Toledo College of Law in Toledo, Ohio. He has held that post since 2005. Prior to joining Toledo, he was dean and professor of law at Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Del., and Harrisburg, Pa. Prior to the Widener post, he was a professor of law at Toledo from 1981-1998. His legal interests include labor and employment law. Ray holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and a J.D. from Harvard University Law School. He has served as site inspector for the American Bar Association accreditation of law schools and a past chair of the American Association of Law Schools labor and employment law section.

Office of International Affairs Announces Photo Contest Winners

UNL's Office of International Affairs recently announced the winners of its 2009 fall term study abroad photo contest winners. One winner in each of three categories was selected.

 

Second City
Best of Second City at Lied Center

The comedy-improv group Second City, boasting a list of alumni that rank among comedy's finest, will bring their "50th Anniversary: Best of Second City" show to the Lied Center for Performing Arts, 301 N. 12th St., Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for this performance are $29 and $19. UNL students and those from other participating colleges with a valid ID, and youths age 18 and younger, may purchase tickets for half price. Call the Lied Ticket Office at (402) 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231 for availability. Regular ticket office hours are 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. For weekday evening performances, Lied Center Ticket Office hours are from 11 a.m. until 30 minutes after show time. Tickets may also be purchased online at the Lied Center website. more...

Antichrist, The Messenger Play at the Ross

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Antichrist and The Messenger. Antichrist will screen through February 4, while The Messenger will show through February 11.
