Registration Open for Summer Reading Courses
Registration is now open for this year's Summer Reading Courses (SRC). These courses are designed for students who need a little extra flexibility in their schedules and allow them to earn the credit they want, when they want this summer.
UNL students and faculty can enroll via the SRC website or in person at the Office of Extended Education & Outreach (EE&O) at 900 N. 22nd Street. Registration is open until May 31.
ASUN Runoff Election Today
A runoff election will be held today between N Vision and Fusion for internal president, internal vice president, and external vice president. College of Arts and Sciences will also be voting for new advisory board members. Students will be able to access voting through their WAM accounts and polls will be open from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Extra computers will be set up in the Nebraska Union, the Nebraska East Union, and campus recreation centers, which will be staffed by election workers. Those sites open from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

The White Ribbon, Oscar-Nominated Crazy Heart Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents The White Ribbon and Crazy Heart. Both films will show through March 11.

1940s Musical Review 'In the Mood' at Lied Center
'In the Mood' is a theatrical swing review that celebrates the classic big band era greats of the 1940s like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Bennie Goodman. The 'In the Mood' singers and dancers, accompanied by the String of Pearls big band will take the Lied Center for Performing Arts back in time at a 7:30 p.m. performance.
Tickets for this performance are $35, $30 and $25. Students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and other participating colleges with a valid I.D., and youth age 18 and younger may purchase tickets for half price. Call the Lied Ticket Office at (402) 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231 for availability. Regular ticket office hours are 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. National Wildlife Federation CEO To Speak at UNL
Larry Schweiger, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, will issue a call to action to combat the effects of climate change when he gives a talk March 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Lincoln. His presentation on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus, in Chase Hall, Room 116, will be free and open to the public.
In his book, Last Chance: Preserving Life on Earth (Fulcrum Publishing: September 2009), Schweiger presents the science of global climate change and how it is affecting places all over the world. He describes how a clean energy economy would help avoid the worst consequences of global warming, and reminds readers that they have a duty to think and act as the earth's caretakers, not just its inhabitants. more...

UHC Offers Spring Break Survival Kit
The University Health Center, Health Education Department, UHC Student Advisory Board, and Campus Rec Centers will be distributing spring break survival kits on a while-they-last basis. The kits will be handed out Tuesday, March 9 at the East Campus Activities Building (East Campus Rec), beginning at 9 a.m., Wednesday, March 10 at the Campus Rec Center, beginning at 10 a.m., and Wednesday, March 10 at the Nebraska Union from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. as part of the Safe Spring Break Fair sponsored by the UHC Health Education Department and medical clinic.
The kits are BPA-free water bottles stuffed with the following items: antacid tablets; antiseptic wipes; band-aids; condom; ibuprofen; sunscreen; toothbrush; and toothpaste. If you do not want any of the items in the kit, return them to the University Health Center.
