Darwin the Dinosaur
Darwin the Dinosaur at Lied Center

In a unique and innovative theater experience where electroluminescent, crayon-like creatures light up the stage, "Darwin the Dinosaur" tells the tale of a dinosaur discovering the true meaning of love. This Lied Family Series show will appear at the Lied Center for Performing Arts at 7 p.m. April 27 with a LiedFamFest pre-performance party at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets for this performance are $14. Students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and other participating colleges with a valid ID, and youths age 18 and younger may purchase tickets for half price. Maxwell Arboretum
Warm Up on Spring Tuesdays on Maxwell Arboretum Walking Tours

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Gardens will sponsor a series of informal spring walking tours Tuesdays in the Earl G. Maxwell Arboretum on UNL's East Campus. Throughout the season, the arboretum goes through rapid changes. These tours, from noon to 1 p.m. each Tuesday through May 11, will guide visitors to the current week's highlights.

Participants should meet at the Karl Loerch Gazebo located one block east of the UNL Dairy Store just off Holdrege Street. Some metered parking is available on the East Campus Loop south of the arboretum. more...

Flooded Pasture by Wendy Hall
Painter Wendy Hall to be Artist-In-Residence at Great Plains Art Museum

Painter Wendy Hall will be the 2010 Elizabeth Rubendall Artist-in-Residence April 27-May 2 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Great Plains Art Museum, 1155 Q St. During her residency, Hall will create two paintings: one still life and one bucolic scene from her farm. The commissioned works will become part of the museum's permanent collection.

Visitors and school groups are invited to view and interact with Hall as she works. There will be hands-on stations for visitors to attempt still-life object arrangement, perceptive drawing, and media experimentation. Hall will paint 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m., April 27 through May 1, and 1:30 to 5 p.m. May 2. Groups may arrange tours by contacting museum curator Amber Mohr at (402) 472-0599. more...

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Prodigal Sons and Neil Young Trunk Show. Prodigal Sons will show through April 29, while Neil Young Trunk Show will screen through May 6.
