Public Seminar and Reception Scheduled for Vice Chancellor of IANR Candidate
A series of visits is planned with four candidates identified by a search committee seeking to hire the new vice president and vice chancellor for the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources at UNL. From 3:30 - 5:30 p.m., a public seminar and reception will be held for Cheng-i Wei in the Nebraska East Union.
Wei is dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at University of Maryland, College Park; and director of the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station and University of Maryland Extension. Previously, Wei was associate dean for research and graduate studies in the College of Human Environmental Sciences at Oklahoma State University (2002-2005), Bruno professor and head of the department of Nutrition and Food Science at Auburn University (1998-2992); and professor of food science and human nutrition at the University of Florida (1981-1998), including several acting and interim leadership appointments. He earned a bachelor's in biology at Tunghai University in Taiwan, a master's in medical microbiology at National Taiwan University and a Ph.D in microbiology at University of California, Davis.

UNL's Jacobberger Wins Prestigious Goldwater Scholarship
Robert Jacobberger, a chemical and biomolecular engineering student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is the winner of a 2010 Goldwater Scholarship. The prestigious program awards approximately 300 scholarships per year throughout the nation to help develop highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers.
Jacobberger, a junior from Omaha, said he plans to use the scholarship to obtain a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering. more...
Prodigal Sons, Neil Young Trunk Show Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Prodigal Sons and Neil Young Trunk Show. Prodigal Sons will show through April 29, while Neil Young Trunk Show will screen through May 6.
