Sunday With A Scientist To Explore How Climate Affects Nebraska
The University of Nebraska State Museum will present a program for children and families on how climate affects Nebraska as part of its Sunday with a Scientist series, 1:30-4:30 p.m. May 16 at Morrill Hall. Presenters from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Natural Resources will educate visitors on how scientists work to determine and assess the impacts of climate on society and the environment.
"The Complexities of Drought: A Global and Local Look" will be led by outreach and research specialists and graduate students from three units within the school, including the Center for Advanced Land Management Information Technologies (CALMIT), the National Drought Mitigation Center and the geography graduate program. more...

Quilts From India, Pakistan, Bangladesh in New Exhibit at Quilt Museum
The International Quilt Study Center and Museum at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will highlight a vibrant textile tradition shown in its rich cultural context: that of the lives of women in diverse regions of the Indian subcontinent.
"South Asian Seams: Quilts from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh," opening May 15, will consist of more than 40 examples of South Asian "ralli" and "kantha" textiles. Morrill Hall Provides Family Fun on 'Colorful Creature Day'
Kids and families are invited to celebrate Colorful Creature Day 1:30-4:30 p.m. May 15 at the University of Nebraska State Museum in Morrill Hall, south of 14th and Vine streets on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus .
A fun-filled afternoon of music with family-friendly musician Mike Mennard, art and animals is planned to celebrate the museum's new Colorful Creature art exhibit, which is comprised of all of the entries received from its statewide art contest this spring. From 1:30-4:30 p.m. only, there will be free museum admission for children ages 18 and younger and $1 off the adult admission (regularly $5) on Colorful Creature Day. UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents The Girl On The Train and The Secret of Kells. Both films will screen through May 27.
