The Lightning Bugs

The Fountain Frolics summer concert series continues with The Lightning Bugs July 8 on the Nebraska Union Plaza. The trio's repertoire includes standards from the 1930s, 40s and 50s, ranging from the Mills Brothers to the Nat King Cole Trio.

Fountain Frolics concerts are noon to 1 p.m. every Thursday through July 29. UNL's University Program Council sponsors local musical entertainment and sells a picnic lunch of a hot dog, chips and a Pepsi product for $4 under the north overhang of the Nebraska Union.

Repertory Theatre Opens Season with "Humble Boy"
Humble Boy

The Nebraska Repertory Theatre, the professional theatre at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, open their season with "Humble Boy." In the play, Felix Humble, an astrophysicist, returns home to escape the gravitational pull of his mother in this comedy about broken vows and the joys of bee-keeping. Performances are July 7-10, 16-17 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 8 at 2 p.m., Studio Theatre.

Tickets are $18 faculty/staff and senior citizens, and $10 students with ID. Season ticket passes are $45 faculty/staff and senior citizens, and $30 students with ID. Tickets are available from the Lied Center Ticket Office, 301 N. 12 Monday through Friday 11 AM to 5:30 PM and one hour prior to the performance in the Temple Theatres Lobby, or by telephone at 472-4747 or 800-432-3231.

Mother And Child; The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Play at the Ross

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Mother And Child and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Mother And Child will screen through July 8, while The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo will show through July 15.
