Celebrate Fall, ReTree Week With Tree Planting
ReTree Week is sponsored by ReTree Nebraska, a 10-year cooperative initiative to promote the proper planting and care of 1 million trees across Nebraska by 2017. So far, nearly 85,000 tree plantings have been reported.
Fall's cooler temperatures, increased moisture and reduced humidity provide a perfect environment to increase that number. These conditions allow properly planted trees to establish their root systems quickly, giving them a jump start on spring growth. more...
Nebraska Research and Innovation Conference Seeking Posters
Registration is now open for the sixth annual Nebraska Research and Innovation Conference Oct. 5 at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel. The theme for the conference is "Renewable Energy: Building a Sustainable Future for Nebraska."
University researchers are welcome to present posters and university centers and facilities are encouraged to bring displays. The deadline for display or poster registration is Sept. 22. For more information about presenting, or to register for the conference, visit the NRIC website

Libraries Receive Collection of Famed Music Educator
Archives and Special Collections at the University Libraries has received the collection of publications, personal correspondence, photographs and videotapes of Mary Helen Bush Richards, Music Educator Hall of Fame member and UNL alumna.
"We are proud to receive materials from and by UNL's successful alumni such as Ms. Richards.
