Morrill Hall's 'Wildlife and Nature' Amateur Photo Exhibit Continues
The University of Nebraska State Museum's "Wildlife and Nature" amateur photography continues on the third floor of Morrill Hall, located south of 14th and Vine streets on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus.
Amateur photographers from across Nebraska submitted entries July 1 to Sept. 30 as part of the museum's second annual photography contest. Nearly 500 images of birds, mammals, plant life, other wildlife, natural landscapes, and people interacting with nature will be showcased for museum visitors to enjoy. Lied Center Building Expansion Gains Approval
The University of Nebraska Foundation and the Lied Center for Performing Arts announce a building expansion to the arts center, made possible through a gift from Christina M. Hixson and the Lied Foundation Trust. The University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved of the gift and project at its Oct. 15 meeting. Construction could begin in February 2011 with completion in August 2012.
"The Lied Center is a Nebraska treasure and we welcome new opportunities to serve the public," said Chancellor Harvey Perlman. "We are grateful for the generosity of Christina Hixson that makes the expansion possible." more...

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Restrepo and Harmony And Me. Both films will show through Oct. 21.
