Exhibit Features Work of Digital Arts Initiative Students
The work of 12 students in Jeff Thompson's Digital Arts Initiative class is featured in the new exhibition, "Ctrl/Alt/Esc: Technology and the Landscape." The exhibit is open through Dec. 17 at the Drift Station Gallery/Performance Space, 1746 N St.
The exhibition features the work of these students: Spenser Albertsen, Keegan Baker, Christie Brazer, Ella Durham, Aaron Jarzynka, Bryan Klopping, Jesse Kudron, Tony Nguyen, Jon Porter, Kan Seidel, Josh Sisco and Devin Thomas. "Ctrl/Alt/Esc: Technology and the Landscape" showcases a semester's work by the undergraduate students in UNL's "Technology and the Landscape" course. Computer Science Education Week is Dec. 6-10
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering will celebrate Computer Science Education Week Dec. 6-10 with tours, demonstrations and outreach to local high schools. The department intends to raise awareness about the field and their efforts preparing students for promising and challenging careers.
The week, which has been endorsed by the U.S. House of Representatives, will be celebrated across the country with events ranging from special lectures to hands-on demonstrations. The events are aimed at bringing attention to the "critical role of computing in today's society and the imperative to bolster computer science education at all levels," according to the national campaign's website. more...

UHC Offers 'Stress Free Zone'
The University Health Center is offering a "Stress Free Zone" as campus gears up for finals week. The zone, sponsored by the UHC's Health Education and Outreach group, is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dec. 8-9 in the Nebraska Union.
The Stress Free Zone will include snacks, giveaways, massages and fun activities. All events are free.

Combined Campaign Contribution Period Extended
UNL's Combined Campaign has been extended through Dec. 17. The campaign has raised 78 percent ($334,000) of the $430,000 goal. To date, 1,186 donors have contributed to the campaign. Last year, a total of 2,245 donors supported the campaign.
The Combined Campaign has gone paperless this year, with donors making pledges online at the Combined Campaign website. Faculty and staff can make pledges on the website or download donation forms. more...

Lebanon; 127 Hours Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Lebanon and 127 Hours. Lebanon will screen through Dec. 9, while 127 Hours will show through Dec. 23.
