Stop into Wick Alumni Center between 8 a.m. and midnight, where the Nebraska Alumni Association is offering a quiet study atmosphere during finals week. There will be free beverages and snacks, and all UNL students are welcome to attend.

Rack's Updates, Photos Online From ANDRILL

To keep onlookers updated from continents away, ANDRILL executive director Frank Rack is posting periodic updates from the project base at the Coulman High Survey Project in Antarctica. UNL and their international scientist colleagues started work about Nov. 12 and will continue through February. Rack's updates are at the Andrill website.

The daily reports include stunning photos from Ross Island where the troupe departed from McMurdo Station on Nov. 2 with their equipment, heading to the Coulman High region near the seaward edge of the Ross Ice Shelf. This year's survey is in preparation for its third drilling project for the 2013-14 season that could extend the climate record back several million more years. more...

 

Combined Campaign
Final day for Combined Campaign giving is Dec. 17

UNL's Combined Campaign has been extended through Dec. 17. The campaign has raised 83 percent ($358,218) of the $430,000 goal. To date, 1,250 donors have contributed to the campaign. Last year, a total of 2,245 donors supported the campaign.

The Combined Campaign has gone paperless this year, with donors making pledges online at the Combined Campaign website. Faculty and staff can make pledges on the website or download donation forms. more...

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Next; 127 Hours Play at the Ross

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Next and 127 Hours. Both films will screen through Dec. 23.
