Alumni Association Offers Study Space
Stop into Wick Alumni Center between 8 a.m. and midnight, where the Nebraska Alumni Association is offering a quiet study atmosphere during finals week. There will be free beverages and snacks, and all UNL students are welcome to attend.

It goes without saying that conservatives and liberals don't see the world in the same way. Now, UNL research suggests that is exactly, and quite literally, the case. In a new study, researchers measured both liberals' and conservatives' reaction to "gaze cues" - a person's tendency to shift attention in a direction consistent with another person's eye movements, even if it's irrelevant to their current task - and found big differences between the two groups.
Liberals responded strongly to the prompts, consistently moving their attention in the direction suggested to them by a face on a computer screen. Conservatives, on the other hand, did not. more...

Final day for Combined Campaign giving is Dec. 17
UNL's Combined Campaign has been extended through Dec. 17. The campaign has raised 83 percent ($358,218) of the $430,000 goal. To date, 1,250 donors have contributed to the campaign. Last year, a total of 2,245 donors supported the campaign.
The Combined Campaign has gone paperless this year, with donors making pledges online at the Combined Campaign website. Faculty and staff can make pledges on the website or download donation forms. more...

UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Next and 127 Hours. Both films will screen through Dec. 23.
