Nominate for GLBT contributions award by March 18

Help identify individuals and/or groups affiliated with the university who stand out for their supportive contributions to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender concerns. The chancellor and the Committee on GLBT Concerns wish to formally recognize outstanding efforts to create an inclusive, respectful and safe climate for members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community at UNL.
These efforts may be by an individual, an organization or department within the institution. The award recipient must demonstrate a sustained and tangible impact on the campus community. The deadline for nominations for this award is March 18. The nomination forms can be found online at the committee website.

Register Now for Water for Food Conference
Increasing water productivity is a major challenge facing agricultural producers, policymakers and resource managers worldwide. The 2011 international Water for Food Conference May 1-4 will feature experts who will discuss advances in research, policy and education that can provide potential solutions to growing more food with less water.
The conference, Water for Food: Paths to Solutions, at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in Lincoln, is hosted by the University of Nebraska and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Register at the conference website, which includes details on costs, schedule and speakers.

Bartels to Give Talk on Plant Viruses

Melissa Bartels, master of science student in the French Research Group, will present "Population Genetics of Cell-to-Cell Movement of Plant Viruses," as a segment in the Plant Pathology Department's Spring Seminar Series. Presentation is 4 p.m. in 264 Keim Hall. All are welcome.

Another Year; The Illusionist Play at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Another Year and The Illusionist. Both films will screen through Feb. 17.
