'Mobile Computing Sprint' Begins Today
Information Services invites you the 'Educause Mobile Computing 5-Day Sprint,' a free, weeklong experience allows you to participate in activities and discussions on the many ways mobile technologies are altering higher education. Interested UNL students, faculty and staff are invited to 107 Architecture Hall over the noon hour this week to participate in this national forum, provided by Educause, the nonprofit association for higher education technology.

UVa's Grujic to Lead Math Colloquium

The Department of Mathematics Colloquium features Zoran Grujic, associate professor at the University of Virginia, at 4 p.m. today in Avery Hall room 115. The lecture, "Energy Cascade in Physical Scales of 3-D Incompressible Flows," is free and open to faculty, staff and students. A pre-talk reception is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in 348 Avery.
The lecture will review mathematical results on hallmarks of the turbulence phenomenology; existence of energy cascade; and locality (in scale) of the averaged flux, including a new setting for the study of cascades in actual physical scales of the flow. more…

APC Responds to Budget Reduction Proposals
The Academic Planning Committee has announced procedures for Phase Three of the FY 2012 UNL Budget Reduction Process, in response to Chancellor Harvey Perlman's announced $5 million in proposed reductions. Perlman outlined his proposal to campus on April 14.
The APC welcomes information from all who may be affected by the proposed reductions. This can be accomplished either in person at the scheduled budget hearing or in writing to the Committee. Win Win; For the Love of Movies at the Ross
UNL's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center presents Win Win and For the Love of Movies: The Story of American Firm Criticism. Win Win will screen through May 5, while For the Love of Movies: The Story of American Firm Criticism will show through Apr. 26.
