Study abroad students featured in photo exhibition
An exhibition featuring the photography of UNL students who have studied abroad is on display through Sept. 2 in the Nebraska Union's Rotunda Gallery. A free reception is planned for 4 to 5:30 p.m., Sept. 2.
The show, "We Wander for Distraction, We Travel for Fulfillment," is an exhibition of work by students who studied abroad with support from UNL's Global Gateway and/or Hixson-Lied scholarships. Students featured in the exhibition are Audrey Stommes, Allison Holdsworth, Michaela Bradley, Marissa Esch, Blaine Muhle and Chailey Young. Read more about the exhibition on Today@UNL.

UNL in the national news: July and August 2011
National media outlets featured and cited UNL sources on a number of topics in July and August. Appearances included the university's July 1 entrance into the Big Ten Conference, which was covered extensively by media outlets across the nation, including the The Associated Press, the Chicago Tribune, ESPN and hundreds of others.
The National Drought Mitigation Center at UNL was regularly cited throughout the summer on persistent drought in 14 southern states. In August, the NDMC's announcement on the record-breaking levels of exceptional drought in the United States was widely covered by CNN, the Washington Post, the Associated Press, >Reuters, the Weather Channel, and hundreds of other media outlets around the world. State of the U, service awards, all-university picnic are today
Chancellor Harvey Perlman will outline university priorities for the coming year in his 12th State of the University annual address at 11 a.m. today at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. The lecture is open to faculty, staff, students and the public.
In keeping with the ongoing discussions about UNL entering the Big Ten Conference, the theme for the speech is "Think Big." The State of the University address will be preceded by UNL's annual Employee Service Award program at 10:30 a.m. in the Lied Center. More than 900 UNL employees will be honored and receive awards for years of service to the university. Read more about this exhibition on Today@UNL.

Financial Scavenger Hunt for RAs & Res Hall Floors is Today
Residence hall floors can complete a 20-minute scavenger hunt to learn key tips about personal finance, including spending plans, financial goals, saving, credit, and more. The event will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sept.1 in the UNL City Union Ballroom. The residence hall floor with the most people attending will win a $200 from the NU Federal Credit Union. One winner will be chosen at random to win an iPod Nano.
