Greg Wagner, a Nebraska Game and Parks Commission public information officer known for doing any and everything on behalf of the state's outdoors, will present a free talk, "The Wild Life of Interacting with the Media," at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Hardin Hall Auditorium.

Wellness Fair is today

The 2011 UNL Wellness Fair is Oct. 17-18. Events are 7:30 a.m. to noon, Oct. 17 in the Nebraska Union and 7:30 to 10 a.m., Oct. 18 in the East Union. The fair includes a fundraiser for the Peoples City Mission.
Wellness Fair activities are chair massages, flu vaccination, blood profiles, and information about nutrition, wellness programming, diabetes, cancer and financial check-ups. The flu vaccinations and blood profiles are $25 each. To assist the Peoples City Mission, fair organizers ask participants to bring non-perishable items and gently-used clothing items (preferably fall or winter wear).

Farritor to lead free Innovation Seminar Series
An Innovation Seminar Series will offer free sessions providing tools to foster creativity and new thinking approaches. Shane Farritor, professor in mechanical and materials engineering and founder of two Nebraska-based startup companies, leads the series.
The series starts today, with two locations and times: Jorgensen Hall room 110, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. or Nebraska Educational Telecommunications, 1800 N. 33rd St., from 6 to 7 p.m. In the opening session titled, "We Need Your Gift," Farritor will make the argument that you need to deliberately take steps to develop your creative gift and it will set the stage and provide an overview for the following seminars that will provide concrete and practical tools to make you more innovative. Campus bus schedule shifts during fall break
On days in the academic year when classes are not in session, Parking and Transit Services adjusts the bus operating schedule to reflect lower passenger demand. The bus-operating schedule during fall break, Oct. 17-18, will adjust to a 20-minute wait between buses on City Campus and a 10-minute wait on East Campus.
Campus bus service will operate from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Regular bus service restarts Oct. 19. Read more on the Parking and Transit website.
Rec centers adjust hours for fall break
Campus Rec Center and East Campus Activities Building have reduced hours during fall break, Oct. 14-18. Group fitness and mind and body classes schedules are modified as well.
Campus Rec Center Fall Break hours:
- Oct. 14 5:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Oct. 15 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Oct. 16 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Oct. 17 5:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Oct. 18 5:45 a.m. to midnight
