Recycling volunteers needed for Friday's game

Results are in from the Oct. 29 Game Day Challenge: More than 75 volunteers gathered approximately 6,800 pounds of recyclables in Memorial Stadium. For the final home game on Nov. 25 vs. Iowa, more volunteers are needed.
The 2011 Game Day Challenge, sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is an annual nationwide competition promotes a friendly competition between universities to see who can reduce, reuse, and recycle the most waste during a home football game. Not all the data is in so a winner isn't yet named. UNL, however, logged more than three tons of plastic, cardboard, aluminum and bottles. Read more about this challenge on Today@UNL.

'Race to Black Friday' enters final day
What started out as an informal challenge between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University to see who could gain the most "likes" on Facebook has turned into a bonified "Race To Black Friday," as the lead has gone back and forth several times while each school has gained over 25 thousand followers.
The contest will officially come to a close at when the two football teams meet at kickoff on 11 a.m. Friday in Lincoln. Help the University of Nebraska-Lincoln pull out a win by "liking" UNL on Facebook today.
Rec centers adjust hours for Thanksgiving
Campus Rec Center and East Campus Activities Building will reduce hours during the Thanksgiving break, Nov. 23-27. Group fitness and mind and body classes schedules are modified as well. Holiday hours and schedules are posted on the Rec Center website.
West Memorial Loop parking closing for stadium construction
Beginning Nov. 26, the west end of the Memorial Mall, Area F3/C1, and loop road, Area A, is being used for construction staging for the East Stadium Improvement Project. A temporary access road will be installed east of the construction staging area to handle vehicular circulation through the mall. Read more about parking on Today@UNL.
