With the holidays approaching, one UNL senior already has a newfound gift to be thankful for -- albeit a hard-earned one. On Nov. 21, Zachary Smith was formally awarded a prestigious Marshall Scholarship.

Marshalls are supported by the United Kingdom's government to encourage young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the UK. Each year, up to 40 scholars are selected to receive these scholarships, which allow winners to spend two years at a British institution pursuing any area of study. 4-H Building

Help name the former 4-H Building

Would you like to help name the former 4-H Building on the old State Fair grounds? A survey now is open for suggestions of names for the building, which will remain as part of the Nebraska Innovation Campus. The survey, available at http://go.unl.edu/2gy, gives anyone the chance to suggest a name for the building.

The building will be the center of a development of research partnerships that carries Nebraska forward for the next 100 years. The focus of research on Innovation Campus will be food, fuel and water — all key to the lifeblood of Nebraska agriculture.
