Study Abroad? There's a club for that

An idea forged by a group of students who have "been there" was the beginning of a organization for those who have or want to study abroad. The UNL Globetrotters had their second meeting on Oct. 23 to discuss their past experiences and future plans for trips overseas.

UNL Globetrotters meets every two weeks. Their next meeting will be 6 p.m. in the Nebraska Union. Questions about Globetrotters and Education Abroad can be directed to adviser Jennifer Mostek, or visit the Education Abroad Office at 420 University Terrace. Reinhard lands book award, grant funding for parasite study

Worms, it turns out, make for a good literary subject— particularly the nasty kind that live and thrive as stowaways in our guts.

Karl Reinhard, a UNL professor who has dedicated most of the last 30 years to the study of ancient parasites, learned as much when his most recent work, "Fundamentals of Paleoparasitology," won the natural sciences division of Brazil's most prestigious book awards, the Premio Jabuti, or "Tortoise Award." responsive design

The Internet and Interactive Media group of University Communications and Information Services has concluded the first phase in its effort to provide full support to all devices - desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets - by implementing a suite of web technologies collectively known as 'responsive design.' This week, the internal and external homepages were re-launched as 'responsive' designs.

You can see the effects of responsive design in your desktop browser by simply re-sizing your browser window (the page will reformat as the window is narrowed), or by viewing on your tablet or smartphone. Please use the 'feedback' links at the bottom of the page if you would like to let us know of any issues. Thank you.
