Cornhusker Marching Band concert is Friday
The Cornhusker Marching Band's annual Highlights Concert is 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 in Pershing Center, 226 Centennial Mall South. The band will present the music performed at each of their halftime shows in addition to pre-game music.
"It's pretty much everything we've put on the field for the season," said Tony Falcone, a senior lecturer who is in his 11th year directing the Cornhusker Marching Band and his 15th year at UNL. Horticulture Club poinsettia sale is today
The annual poinsettia sale by the UNL Horticulture Club is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Nebraska and East unions. In the event of a weather-related cancellation, the sale will also be offered Dec. 7 at both locations.
The sale will feature a wide variety of poinsettia plants. A portion of profits from the sale of pink poinsettias will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. All plants sold were grown in East Campus greenhouses by members of the UNL Horticulture Club.

'Church Basement Ladies Christmas' plays the Lied this weekend
"Away in the Basement: A Church Basement Ladies Christmas" will play three performances at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, Dec. 7-9. Shows are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8, and 2 p.m. Dec. 8 and 9.
Tickets, $30 for adults and $15 for youth, are available at the Lied box office, the Lied Center website or 402-472-4747. Read more about these shows in Today@UNL.

Potential groundwater contamination risks posed by the Keystone XL pipeline in Nebraska are minimal and manageable under a "risk-managed" route proposed by a UNL water scientist.
Roy Spalding, hydrochemist and water quality expert, and Aaron Hirsh, graduate student, outlined the findings in a journal article about risk-managed approaches to routing petroleum pipelines. The article is in the Dec. 4 issue of Environmental Science and Technology, a long-standing and highly regarded journal published by the American Chemical Society, based in Washington, D.C. Final flu shot clinic is today

University Health Center is offering walk-in flu shot clinics at four UNL locations as part of National Influenza Vaccination Week (Dec. 2-8). The clinic, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be held in the Nebraska Union.
Flu shots are free for UNL students paying University Program and Facilities Fees. The shots are $30 for faculty and staff. Read more about flu shot sessions in Today@UNL.

The Internet and Interactive Media group of University Communications and Information Services has concluded the first phase in its effort to provide full support to all devices - desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets - by implementing a suite of web technologies collectively known as 'responsive design.' This week, the internal and external homepages were re-launched as 'responsive' designs.
You can see the effects of responsive design in your desktop browser by simply re-sizing your browser window (the page will reformat as the window is narrowed), or by viewing on your tablet or smartphone.
