Hillestad exhibit presents students' sustainable designs
A new exhibit at the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery showcases garments and textiles created by undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design.
To create the "Renewable Dreaming" exhibit students researched sustainability in different aspects of textile and garment production. The students designed and created the textiles using many different techniques, including screen-printing, shibori and digital printing. Read more about this exhibit in Today@UNL.

India reality TV show to film on campus this week
UNL will be featured in a reality television show projected to reach 25 million youth in India. The show, "College Hunt, USA," will feature two Indian teens experiencing student life at three United States universities — UNL; Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio; and State University of New York at Geneseo. One of the students will have the opportunity to attend college at a university of their choice.
"College Hunt, USA" is a joint production between the U.S. Department of State and Channel V, an international television network owned by Star TV and Fox International Channels. Read more about this show in Today@UNL.

Jones to close out Women's and Gender Studies lecture series

Jeannette Eileen Jones will close out the Women's and Gender Studies Program Spring Colloquium Series with a Tue, 3:30 p.m. lecture in the Nebraska Union. Jones will discuss "Gender, Race and the Missing Link: Science and the Transatlantic Debate on 'The Negro Question.'"
Jones is an associate professor of history and ethnic studies. She is also an affiliate faculty member of the Women's and Gender Studies program. In the talk, Jones will explore the transformation of evolutionary thought pre- and post-Darwin on transatlantic debates over the enslavement, emancipation, and enfranchisement of the "Negro." Nebraska Union redesign forums are April 15-16
Plans outlining potential renovations to the Nebraska Union will be presented during open forums on April 15 and 16. The forums are 3 to 5 p.m. April 15 in the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center's Unity room, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 16 in the Nebraska Union.
Charlie Francis, director of the Nebraska Unions, said the redevelopment of the Nebraska Union is being considered to increase UNL branding within the building, to adapt to the changing needs of students, and as a student recruitment tool that could increase enrollment. Examination Services offers scheduling for spring finals
Final exams for the spring semester are April 29 to May 3. Examination Services has issued an e-mail about scheduling to current users. Faculty using the service for the first time must call 402-472-2097 to receive scheduling information.

'Trance', 'On The Road' continue at The Ross
Director Danny Boyle's kinetic thriller "Trance" and "On The Road," based on Jack Kerouac's novel, continue at The Ross this week. "Trance" is rated R and plays through May 2. "On The Road" is rated R and plays through April 18.
