The final fabric packets to sew cotton face masks are available in the Extension Education Center front door drop box at 444 Cherrycreek Road. All completed masks should be delivered to the drop box by Wednesday, May 6.

Since March 25, the successful "Sewing for Hospitals" and "Hats for Hospitals" projects generated almost 750 hand-made cotton surgeon hats and over 500 hand-made cotton face masks since March 25 for Bryan Health in Lincoln.

Thank you to all of the very skilled, passionate and dedicated youth and adult sewers as well as those who donated fabric and supplies. This group effort with 4-H, Extension and the community helped meet a big need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The need for face masks still exists. If youth or adult sewers wish to continue sewing for this cause, they may contact Sheila Green with "Lincoln COVID Sewists" at sheilagreen@windstream.net. This group continues to sew face masks for various organizations in Lincoln including Bryan Health.
