4-H Code of Conduct is consistent with with the six core ethical values comprising good character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, fairness and citizenship.

Actions by anyone involved with the 4‑H program will be consistent with the six core ethical values comprising good character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, fairness and citizenship. While working with or participating in 4‑H, all parties will:
• Provide a safe environment for everyone.
• Exhibit good citizenship by obeying laws and rules.
• Treat all people and property with respect, courtesy, consideration and kindness.
• Practice fair-mindedness by being open to ideas, suggestions and opinions of others.
• Use good manners.
• Avoid personal put-downs, insults, name calling, swearing and language or nonverbal conduct likely to hurt or offend others.
• Abstain from being under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.
• Dress appropriately.
