We're bursting with pride to announce that our very own Alana Ross, Marketing & Communications Intern at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center / OASIS, has been selected for the prestigious American Advertising Federation's Most Promising Multicultural Students (MPMS) program!
Alana, a senior at UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications from Houston, has impressed us all with their academic ambition. With a double major in advertising and public relations and sports media and communication, plus an impressive lineup of minors in sociology, women and gender studies, LGBTQ/sexuality studies, and English, Alana exemplifies the dedication we celebrate at OASIS.
As we write this, Alana is experiencing an incredible opportunity in New York City, visiting top advertising agencies and PR firms, attending workshops led by industry professionals, and networking with fellow standout students from across the country. This experience through the MPMS program, which has helped nearly 1,000 students secure careers since 1997, aligns perfectly with Alana's post-graduation aspirations.
Alana’s ultimate goal reflects the values we cherish at OASIS: "I want to be a voice for the unseen and to continue to pave the way for black students to work in the media."
The entire OASIS team celebrates Alana's achievement and supports her journey toward empowering multicultural students in media and beyond!
