
We're thrilled to celebrate Parviz Jamalov, Graduate Assistant at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center a Graduate Student at the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications and a Fulbright Scholar, for receiving the prestigious Judge's Citation award from the American Advertising Federation Nebraska. Parviz was recognized for his impactful video series "The Heart Behind the Badge," which masterfully breaks down stereotypes by revealing the human side of law enforcement officers in Grand Island, Nebraska.
"The Heart Behind the Badge" project tackles widespread biases and misconceptions about police officers by showcasing their genuine personalities beyond the uniform. Through thoughtful storytelling, Parviz highlights officers' involvement in community activities and demonstrates their commitment to building positive relationships with the people they serve.
