A Message from President Tony Lazarowicz

I recently came back from a conference and at one of the leadership training sessions and they were talking about the importance of an organization being active and engaging the membership. While that was a national organization, the concept really does apply to UAAD as well. How many of you will share with your colleagues that you are part of UAAD? Have you been to an event in the last year? I hope the answer is yes, but our goal is to continue to provide more opportunities for networking, more professional development sessions that are shorter in length, and more opportunities to be involved in community outreach. We are also working to engage social media more regularly, so if that is somewhere you would like to utilize to ask questions, share ideas, or get feedback, we welcome that as a way to engage in campus dialogue as well.

As you saw in our recent announcement, we’ve been asked to participate in a listening session to discuss the Draft Working Report of the N150 Commission Subcommittees. Our feedback is important to the direction of our institution, and I hope you will find time to join me in hearing what some of the subcommittees are proposing. Please take time to review the report, which will be posted on October 11th.

I hope you can find time to attend one of our upcoming events. Thanks for being a member of UAAD and have a great rest of the week!
