• The CAST office will continue to be open from 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday with at least 2 full-time staff working on-site in the event that a student needs an in-person appointment. Our full staff is also available during regular office hours for Zoom, Skype, email, and phone appointments.
• Our regularly scheduled workshop series has been cancelled. If you have students who needed to attend a workshop to fulfill a class or Academic Recovery Requirement, please redirect them to schedule an appointment with one of our coaches instead. They can schedule through MyPLAN, by calling 402-472-1880, or by emailing success@unl.edu
• Study Stop tutoring will resume Monday, March 30. The plan for now is to have tutoring available in-person (adhering to social distancing guidelines) as long as the Learning Commons remains open. Tutors will also be available to assist students via Zoom/email. We will be sending out more details next week.
• Our office is working to draft some ongoing tips/messaging to help students make the transition. Attached is a pdf of some tips to help students start preparing for classes to resume. Many of them are hanging in limbo right now without a lot of details available about their courses. Others are likely viewing this week and next week as an extended Spring Break. We really want to encourage them to start thinking about things like setting a routine, setting up a study space, and even taking some time to be reviewing what they’ve already learned in their courses so they can jump back in without forgetting everything. Please feel free to distribute the pdf widely. We will continue to produce similar content and send it out as it becomes available.
