Law 3+3 Program
Law 3+3 Program

It may be time for a quick refresher on the College of Law’s 3 + 3 program. Students who will have, by the end of their junior year, completed at least 75% of their credits, have completed all their gen eds and major requirements, and can provide a letter from their college’s dean or other authority saying that a bachelor’s degree will be awarded after their first year of law school, can apply to the College of Law a year early.

The application process is exactly the same is for any other applicant. Students will take the LSAT and will submit an application, transcripts, two to four letters of recommendation, a personal statement, an optional resume and any required or optional addenda.

3+3 applicants may be automatically admitted to law school (without consideration by the Admissions Committee) if their LSAT score and cumulative GPA are equal to or above the medians of the most recent incoming class. They must also have satisfied all the other requirements for eligibility.

If you are ever working with a student who is considering the 3+3 program, we encourage you to connect them with the law school. Likewise, if you have questions about the program, please don’t hesitate to call the Assistant Dean for Admissions, Melissa McCoy. The latest 3+3 information can always be found at the law website, linked below.
