All Business Minor courses will be offered online in the 2025-26 academic year as CoB needs the classroom space during curriculum changes.
MNGT updates: MNGT 300 has no prerequisites and is available to first-year students. Also, if a student becomes a business major after taking MNGT 300, that course will be substituted for MNGT 301. However, this type of substitution is not allowed for ECON 200 or ACCT 200; students transferring into CoB will need to take ECON 211, ECON 212, ACCT 201, and ACCT 202.
What about other business minor classes?
ACCT 200
- Prerequisites: Open to non-CoB students; 12 credit hours (2.5 GPA and math prerequisites removed)
- Students can also take both ACCT 201 and 202 instead of ACCT 200
- Transfer credit? The degree audit will allow one transfer course. CoB will approve the second course if the student took it prior to attending UNL
- Substitution needed? Email Jen Mostek at jmostek2@unl.edu for CoB approval to attach to your substitution request
ECON 200
- Prerequisites: 12 hours – no changes
- ECON 200 is an ACE 6 or 8
- Students can also take both ECON 211 and 212 instead of ECON 200. This is especially helpful if a student has transfer or AP credit for ECON 211.
- Transfer credit? The degree audit will allow one transfer course. CoB will approve the second course if the student took it prior to attending UNL

MNGT 300 (or MNGT 301):
- Prerequisites: None; Open to non-CoB students
- If a student has taken MNGT 301, the degree audit will complete the MNGT 300 requirement with this course.
MRKT 300 (or MRKT 341):
- Prerequisites: For non-CoB students only; 2.5 cum GPA; Sophomore standing, ECON 200 (or ECON 211&212) – no changes
- If a student has taken MRKT 341, the degree audit will complete the MRKT 300 requirement with this course.
FINA 300 (or FINA 361 or ACTS 440):
- Prerequisites: For non-CoB students only; 2.5 cum GPA; ACCT 200 (or ACCT 201 and ACCT 202) and ECON 200 (or ECON 211 and ECON 212) – no changes
- If a student has taken FINA 361, the degree audit will complete the FINA 300 requirement with this course.
- If a student has taken ACTS 440, email Jen Mostek at jmostek2@unl.edu for CoB approval to attach to your substitution request
BLAW 300 (or BLAW 371 or 372):
- Prerequisites: For non-CoB students only; 2.5 cum GPA; Sophomore Standing – no changes
- BLAW 300 is an ACE 8
- If a student has taken BLAW 371 or 372, the degree audit will complete the BLAW 300 requirement with this course.
