
Here are some relevant details:
• The trip is open to ALL UNL students with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
• Students may earn 1-3 credits of UHON 298H credit through 1-2 credits on the trip and a 0-1 credit pre-trip mini-course (which is strongly encouraged but not required) during the last part of the spring semester. While the trip will explore many aspects of Vietnam today, and in the past, the for-credit component will focus the rhetorical constructions of history in memoir literature and public spaces like museums and memorial displays.
• The trip will occur during the pre-session in May 2016 between the end of the spring semester and the start of the first 5-week session.
• We will travel through northern, central, and southern Vietnam, exploring the history of the Vietnam/American war from multiple perspectives and learning about current issues like the Vietnamese post-war economy, environmental sustainability, higher education in Vietnam, and Vietnamese culture and art.
• Deadline to apply is Feb 1, 2016. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
