The Whole Advisor: Values-guided reflection for whole-hearted work and living

AAA professional development committee is offering a two-part workshop series that will provide the time and tools for you to take inventory on your life as a whole and ponder how your work and personal life interact with your core values. Through guided reflection, idea-generating activities, and small group conversation, we want to leave with (1) a renewed understanding of our own personal values and (2) a vision for ways we can grow personally and professionally in alignment with those values. We hope that taking a meaningful look at our own lives will encourage deeper conversations with our colleagues and raise new questions to ask our students.

Monday, November 19 | 3:30-5pm | Schorr Presidential Suite, 6th floor of Hewitt Place bldg at 12th& Q
Led by Jacob Schlange and Alexis Lehman
Workshop 1 will help you focus on identifying or redefining the core values that drive your actions and bring purpose to your life. Taking time to observe how those values align (or are inconsistent) with your current professional circumstances and personal actions will serve as a platform for the next workshop.

January – Time TBA
During Workshop 2 we will engage in brainstorming activities to help you identify your life goals (big and small!). We’ll discuss ways to infuse your goals into your work and play as you strive to grow and make decisions rooted in your core values.

Appetizers will be served. Please RSVP for the November workshop here: https://goo.gl/forms/OpLoBic7gPqr3BYG3

The workshop is at the Schorr Presidential Suite on the 6th floor of the Hewitt Place building at 12th & Q Street (1155 Q St – use the Great Plains Art Museum entrance and take the elevator to the 6th floor). You can walk from campus, or if you are driving, you can park on the street in metered parking stalls or in the connected “Que Place Garage” directly west of the Hewitt Place building.
