• June 3-Oct. 7: "Building a Narrative: Production Art and Pop Culture" exhibition. Eisentrager-Howard Gallery. An opening reception will be held Friday, June 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery. The gallery will be open upon request Monday through Thursday (visit the art office in 120 Richards Hall for access) and on Fridays from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The exhibition features original artwork from popular films, animated television series, comics and trading cards from local collector Trent Claus (B.F.A. 2006).

• June 21-25: Middle School Band Camp. Registration deadline: June 6. The Middle School Band Camp is a brass, woodwind and percussion concert ensemble camp for students entering 6th grade through leaving 8th grade. At least one year of playing experience is suggested. • July 9: Meadowlark Music Festival presents Jazz in the Pines. 7 p.m. Prairie Pines Nature Preserve, N. 112th St. and Adams. Featuring Jackie Allen, vocals; Darryl White, trumpet; Jeff Jenkins, piano/organ: Michael Warren, drums; and other special guests. Bring a folding chair or blanket. • July 10-14: Cornhusker Summer Marching Band Camp. Registration deadline: June 27. The Cornhusker Summer Marching Band Camp is for students entering the 9th grade through leaving 12th grade. The camp offers clinics for drum majors, leaders, fundamental marching, percussion and color guard. • July 15: Nebraska Alumni Association's Future Husker University for children ages 7-13. The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is offering two classes: 1) See the Light: Stage Lighting and Color with Assistant Professor of Theatre Michelle Harvey and 2) Art of the Poster with Assistant Professor of Practice in Graphic Design Jen Landis. • Aug. 26: Nebraska Repertory Theatre: The Gala. 7 p.m. Rococo Theatre (140 N 13th St.). Nebraska Repertory Theatre presents The Gala—a special event featuring drinks, dinner, entertainment and more.
