The annual MEDICI exhibition will be on display through Feb. 25 at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall, culminating in their annual fund-raiser on Feb. 25.
MEDICI is a friends group that supports the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Art and Art History. Since its inception 22 years ago, MEDICI has raised nearly $210,000 for the department, which has been used to bring visiting scholars to the campus and to purchase kilns, presses, papermaking equipment and other amenities that contribute to first-rate art educational offerings for UNL students.
Participating artists in the exhibition this year include Deon Bahr, Margaret Berry, Margaret Bohls, Susan J. Brasch, Paul Brokering, Roger Bruhn, Nancy Childs, Ryan Crotty, Eddie Dominguez, Keith Jacobshagen, Gail Kendall, Karen, Kunc, Susan Puelz, Alison Rash, Amy Smith & Simon Levin, Francisco Souto and Crisha Yantis.
In addition, Stephen Dinsmore, Aaron Holz and Therman Statom have each provided work that will be available to purchase through a silent auction.
The MEDICI fund-raising event is Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m. This is a ticketed event ($50-$1,200). The $50 general admission ticket admits you to the event and entitles you to food and drink. Additional Patron Supporter ($600), Investor Supporter ($900) and Premium Supporter ($1,200) levels allows patrons to receive one of the pieces of artwork in the exhibition. Visit http://medici.unl.edu/tickets for more information.
In addition, all attendees will have the opportunity to purchase $100 artwork during the event provided by additional artists. Sales are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Gallery hours for the exhibition are Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m. The gallery is located on the first floor of Richards Hall, which is located at Stadium Drive and T sts. on the UNL city campus. Admission to the gallery for exhibitions is free and open to the public.
