Nebraska Extension, with help from Zoetis, Boehringer Ingelheim, Merial and Merck, will be hosting a Panhandle Cattlemen’s Day Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Gordon City Auditorium (311 N. Oak St.) in Gordon, NE. This event will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. (MT) and will host Drs. Kelly Bruns, Rick Funston, Jerry Volesky, and Karla Jenkins as speakers. Topics for the day will include: calf management and marketing strategies, backgrounding opportunities, increasing production efficiency in the beef herd, alternative forages for the beef herd, and partial confinement opportunities for producers. The event will be concluded with a local producer panel speaking on the “Opportunities to Increase Beef Production and Efficiency in Nebraska.” This free event will also have a trade show of Nebraska agriculture vendors to view all day and a free lunch.
