Adam Liska led a team of researchers in calculating the devastation that a single nuclear warhead could cause. They reported that climate change in the warhead's aftermath could result in widespread drought and famine that could cost a billion lives.

Their findings were reported in the July 6 issue of Environment magazine and discussed in a recent copy of Nebraska Today. The story has since been picked up by The Daily Mail in the United Kingdom and gizmodo.com.
