BSE Kiwanis members to help host music festival

On July 23, the Northeast Kiwanis club, whose BSE members include Mark Wilkins, John Hay, Loren Isom, Juliet Okuom and Amber Patterson, will host LNK Fest, a family-friendly music and arts festival celebrating Lincoln’s youth.

This free event will run from 12 to 6 p.m. at Union Plaza Park and the Jane Snyder Trails Center and will feature musical performances, demonstrations, activities and crafts, food trucks and vendors. The musical lineup will include local favorites The Blues Messengers, The String Beans and The 402 Band, as well as local youth performance groups. The festival will be emceed by Carol Turner of KFOR Radio, produced by Vessel Live, and supported by Hear Nebraska, The BAY and other Lincoln nonprofit organizations.

BSE faculty and staff members have been involved in Kiwanis since the early 1980s, following the lead of Milford Hanna.
