UNL TEAM PLACES 2ND IN ASABE FOUNTAIN WARS STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION
The BSE Fountain Wars Team took home 2nd place in the annual Fountain Wars Student Design Competition. During the competition, students design and model entries on-site at the annual ASABE meeting, including building and testing. Judging is based on total scores for written, oral, construction, and technical components of the presentation and aesthetics.
The team had to complete two technical tasks: hitting a target with a golf disk shot from the pool and keeping a balance beam level. They also took come a cash prize of $1,000. Congrats, Fountain Wars Team!
SENIOR BSE MAJOR TAKES PART IN 3-D PRINTING RESEARCH
Tyrell Williams, a senior biological systems engineering major from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was the face of a special-edition Shark Week article in Nebraska Today. The article discusses how 3-D printers may assist with recoveries for shark bite victims.
