Chancellor Ronnie Green will lead a universitywide Celebration of Service, honoring nearly 1,000 faculty and staff, on Sept. 18. “This event is an opportunity to celebrate the talent and dedication of our people,” Green said.
The Celebration of Service is free and open to all University of Nebraska–Lincoln faculty and staff. It will feature an 11 a.m. award ceremony in the Coliseum. Starting at 10:30 a.m., access will be available through doors on the south side of the building. A picnic open to all university employees follows at 11:30 a.m.
2019 BSE Service Award Recipients:
Derrel L Martin, 40 years. Areas of research and professional interest include irrigation engineering and management, Groundwater quality, water resources engineering, and field studies, modeling and optimization research on managing irrigation, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and decision support systems.
David D Jones, 30 years. Areas of research and professional interest include Fuzzy set theory and soft computing techniques, bioenergy/fuels and mathematical modeling of physical and biological systems.
Stuart D Hoff, 30 years. Area of research and professional interest includes research at Rogers Memorial Farm.
Tami M Brown-Brandl, 20 years. Area of research and professional interest includes a research program that is focused on an engineering approach to improved animal well-being and production efficiency.
Francis J Hay, 15 years. Some areas of teaching interests include unintended consequences of the biofuels industry, ethanol co-product utilization, bioenergy crops, and changes in farming practices due to the biofuels industry.
Jeyamkondan Subbiah, 15 years. Some areas of research and professional interest include multiphysics modeling of food processes for improving food quality and safety, improving safety of low moisture foods using radiofrequency processing, extrusion, and gaseous technologies and
Adam J Liska, 10 years. Areas of research and professional interest include biofuels, life cycle assessment, greenhouse gas emissions, and Energy Security.
Deepak R Keshwani, 10 years. Areas of research and professional interest include bioprocess and biosystems modeling and optimization and student success and retention.

Curtis L Tomasevicz, 5 years. Areas of research and professional interest include the Nebraska Athletic Performance Laboratory.

Santosh Pitla, 5 years. Areas of research and professional interest include Agricultural Robotics, Agricultural Equipment Logistics, Embedded Control Applications in Machine Automation, and Unmanned Ground and Aerial Applications in Agriculture.
Sibel Irmak, 5 years. Some areas of research and professional interest include the production of biofuels, bioproducts and green chemicals from lignocellulosic biomass, gasification of lignocellulosic biomass in aqueous media and developing catalysts for green synthesis and biomass conversion using nanotechnological approaches.
Yufeng Ge, 5 years. Some areas of research and professional interest include sensor-based plant phenotyping, optoelectronic sensor development in agriculture and VIS/NIR/MIR Spectroscopy.
